Whenever then-Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo couldn’t move the sticks through the air, he handed the ball off to Murray, who consistently shredded defenses in Dallas. Murray’s rare blend of speed and power, along with Dallas’ talented offensive line, was too much for opposing defenses. In four seasons with the Cowboys, he ran for 4,526 yards and 28 touchdowns. Murray also went to two Pro Bowls as a member of the Cowboys.
However, the Jacksonville Jaguars made a huge mistake by using their first-round selection on quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert never found his footing in Jacksonville. He was a turnover machine who couldn’t make big plays. The Jaguars were 5-22 with Gabbert under center and ended up trading him to the San Francisco 49ers in 2014.
Overall, the 2011 draft featured a lot of soon-to-be NFL stars. Here are all the picks from that draft:
Brian Dawkins gave one of the best speeches we’ve ever seen at the NFL draft to open up Saturday.
Speaking in front of a Philadelphia crowd that he played in front of for 13 seasons, he came up to the podium and started by yelling, “Yeah, baby!” From then, we knew it was on.
He told the Philadelphia contingent that it should be proud of itself and to “Let all the haters hate. Don’t worry about the haters. Be you.”
Dawkins then led the crowd in singing the Eagles fight Wholesale NFL Jerseys Nike song, “Fly, Eagles Fly.” It was probably the happiest the crowd had been all weekend since the draft Very Cheap Jerseys started.
The former NFL safety showed off the same fiery passion that he had for so many years while wreaking havoc on NFL wide receivers.
