Sunday Night Football became a showcase for the New Orleans Saints to prove to the football world how good they are on a day where the league was abuzz with praise for the Carolina Panthers. The Saints’ dominant win simultaneously cemented their spot atop the NFC South, while throwing water on the Panthers’ success — reminding everyone who the class of the division is.
When Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee left Sunday night’s game, Drew Brees became a shark smelling blood in the water. The Saints quarterback kept attacking the center of the field and exploiting in soft coverage, playing his best game of 2013.
Brees found nine different receivers, throwing his four touchdowns to four different players. That made it impossible for the Dallas defense to key on any one player to stop. It became embarrassing as New Orleans racked up an NFL-record 40 first downs en route to a huge win.
I think this team is showing a lot of improvement, even when their play is suspect at times. The defense’s okay days look like last season’s best days, and that is a sign of Billy Davis doing a great job with his players. Foles has looked great on the stat line but also sharp (for the most part) on the field over the last two weeks.
Packers fans, meanwhile, are dealing with a drastic shift in momentum. Green Bay had sole possession of first place atop the NFC North heading into last Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears. Since, they lost their best player to a broken collarbone and dropped two straight games. Evan “Tex” Western at Packers blog Acme Packing Company is … well, he’s miserable.
Neither does Kevin Williams, for that matter. Neither Tampa Bay Lightning Cheap Jerseys does anyone else that puts on that purple and gold uniform and takes that field every week. The players are going to continue Cheap Authentic NFL Jerseys playing hard, whatever their motivation might be, whether it’s pride or their next contract or whatever else.
